Machismo : Who does it affect?
Machismo is the kind of thing that classifies and discriminates between superiors and inferiors. Differentiating one from the other in an unpleasant way, that is, it is a way of implying that the man is the center over the woman.
Machismo is the concept of superiorizing men as deserving and women as inferior, affecting them in any way (physical or psychological).
This problem occurred in earlier times to a greater degree. Over time, women have defended their rights to equality, gender equity and justice more. However, unfortunately it is still a problem in the world. It tends to affect some places more than others, depending on their upbringing, thoughts, religion, among others.
There have been marches, wars, and struggles to eliminate sexism, since both men and women deserve to be treated equally and with gender equity, without neglecting justice in achieving this.
How to eradicate machismo?
It affects both men and women, as both sexes become sexist even without realizing it, by taking men as the prototype of the human. In another sense, it also occurred among men, as one felt superior to the others, and so on.
Despite who is affected, it is important to raise awareness since the rights of men and women have not yet been fully met with equality.
Taking into account that the reasons why men and women are sexist begin with education at home and at school. On the contrary, being aware that both sexes deserve to have the same education and the same opportunities to grow.
In the family
Machismo in the family occurs through the education given, attitudes and the way of treating each other among the same family members, also contributing to social life. Machismo and feminism can occur through psychological and/or physical violence. In addition to religion, lifestyle, beliefs, among others. The important thing is to educate equally and not give priority to one sex or greater consent.
At school
This is one of the most important places where students express themselves socially with friends, classmates, and teachers. Concepts are taught and learned by practicing and researching them. Values, meanings of gender equity, equality, among others, must be taught.
The society
In a society where everyone learns equally, it is a way of contributing to family and educational experiences. It is where what has been learned is put into practice. Respecting the rights of everyone equally, treating them with respect and equality.
Most of it is learned at home, reinforced at school, and carried out in society.
